A small temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is located at the summit, attracting pilgrims.

The area is part of the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary, established in 1955 to protect plants and animals.

Kedarkantha was historically a route used by local shepherds to take their animals to feed.

The trek goes through old villages, some of which are hundreds of years old, keeping Himalayan traditions alive
