Dayara Bugyal Trek Starting Point is Raithal, a beautiful village located in Uttarakhand’s Garhwal Himalayas, Reaching to Raithal was already an adventure in itself, with winding roads, steep climbs, and beautiful scenic views that had me wide-eyed and excited. I could feel the serenity in the air as soon as I arrived in the village. It was peaceful here, like the world had slowed down and given me time to catch my breath before the adventure began.

Our trek commenced at dawn, bringing with it an air of chill. As the group of trekkers ascended, the trail was bordered by lush green meadows and enormous oak trees. It was indeed a beauty worth seeing; just like setting foot inside a painting. The atmosphere in the forest area was heavy, and I remember how rays of sunlight would make their way through the holes between the tall trees, dotting the forest floor in patches of light. Gui was one such major stop along the way, and I was utterly enchanted by the aura around. As I gazed about, I looked upon the Garhwal Himalayas’ magnificent peaks piercing through the clouds, and for just a moment there, I felt the mountains address me—telling me ancient stories. I lay down on the soft grass, looking up at the sky. I felt so small, yet so connected to everything around me.

After camping at Gui for the night, the next day as we pushed forward, the path became steeper, but my heart kept buoyed with the excitement of reaching the beautiful Dayara Bugyal Trek. The air was perfectly chilled, rendering every breath energizing.
